How the 1+2+1 Program Works

Year 1: Foundation at SRU 

Begin your journey at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, building a strong academic base with core learning. 

Years 2 & 3: Hands-On Clinical Experience 

  • Transition to either the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) to earn an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or the Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Schools of Nursing for a diploma degree in nursing. 
  • Become a Registered Nurse Sooner! After successfully completing your third year, you'll be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam and begin your professional career as a Registered Nurse. 

Year 4: Complete Your BSN Online at SRU 

  • Return to SRU to complete your BSN degree. This final year is offered in a flexible online format, perfectly accommodating the schedule of a working professional.

SRU NURSING ADMISSION CRITERIA

First-Year Students must have the following:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion the following high school courses: Mathematics - 2 units (1 unit of Algebra required), Science - 2 units w/a lab (Biology & Chemistry preferred), English - 4 units, & Social Studies - 3 units.
  • SAT score - minimum 1250 (waived for the Fall 2025 class only).
  • TEAS Exam - minimum 80% on reading comprehension.

Transfer Students must have the following:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • TEAS Exam - minimum 80% on reading comprehension.
